Our annual Christmas lunch was held on Sat 2 Dec 2017 at the University Golf Club. We were joined by members of the Kerrisdale Lawn Bowling Club. A great time was had by all.

At the lunch, we celebrated the 6 years of excellent leadership provided by our recently-retired President, Cathleen Rowlette. In this photo, our new President, Charles Hou, is giving Cathleen a small gift in commemoration.

On Wed 6 Sep 2017 we held a mixed triples tournament involving bowlers in our club.  Teams were chosen based on random draw and each team played 3 games of 10 ends each.  The top 3 teams had 2 victories and the other 3 teams had 1 victory.  The winning teams were:

1. Frank Kaweski, Shirley Grimmett, Verle Kaweski
2. Elaine Rolston, David Crowe, Kathie Draeseke
3. Bill Sharp, Bridget Allanson, Bill Comerford

The Barbara Williams Mixed Fours Tournament on Sun 3 Sep 2017.  We had a large turnout: 96 bowlers.  The winners were:

1. From White Rock: David Baldwin, Sharen Baldwin, C. Johnson, A. Abraham
2. From Richmond: Vivien Chan, Paul Lee, Gonzo Wong, Fanny Yeung
3. From Richmond: Eric Leung, Linda Ng, Esther Sun, Alan Chan
4. From Granville Park: Larry Wong, Wendy Hui, Willman Wong, Alice Wong

Round 2 of this season’s Wednesday Mixed Triples League concluded on 23 Aug 2017.  Here are the winning teams:

3. Bill Sharp, Stuart Hicks, Andy Byrne.

This concludes another successful season of our Wednesday Mixed Triples League.

On Sat 12 Aug 2017, we held a women’s triples tournament, in which 16 teams participated. The winners were …

Desserts were provided by Tapestry at Wesbrook Village, UBC.

On Sat 29 Jul 2017, we held a mixed pairs tournament, in which 8 teams (of 2) participated.  The winners were …

1. Frank Kaweski & Margit Hunt
2. Ralph Roper & Sharen Fuchs
3. Charles Hou & Verle Kaweski

The 2nd & 3rd place teams were essentially tied.  We had to use the number of won ends as a tie breaker to decide the ranking.

On Sat 15 Jul 2017, we held a Singles event.  Each player played 3 games with each game ending when a player’s score of 15 was reached.  Some games went quickly; however, some went to the wire with the score reaching 14-14 and a final end determining the winner.

The top 3 finishers were as follows:
