Our club has an extensive lawn bowling program that will suit the needs of all levels of skill from the rank beginner to the most experienced bowler. We currently have two club leagues, three inter-club leagues, several club and inter-club tournaments as well as daily draws where people show up and teams are formed randomly for the day’s play. Consult the Club Calendar for regular weekly information about the Daily Draws, Leagues, Tournaments and other Events. Registration for all competitions can be done using the Registration Form at the bottom of this page.
Daily Bowls Open Draw
Except when it is cancelled by league or tournament play, every day of the week members can arrive at the clubhouse and submit their names for the daily bowls draw. A convenor determines the number and size of teams based on how many members show up and their interest in the game to be played. Of course, members of all skill levels are invited to play. If a member has a guest the daily draw is where they would play. Members are allowed to have one daily guest and any one person can be a guest a maximum of three times per year. There is a small guest fee and the guest information should be entered in the Club’s Guest Book located in the clubhouse.

Ed Angel League
When in 1986 our Club’s Board of Directors gave permission to the Vancouver Croquet Club to use one of the lawns Ed Angel was so incensed he resigned and went to bowl at Kerrisdale. He believed, as did some others, that croquet would ruin the lawns. Of course, he was proven wrong. But before his resignation he was the primary force responsible for establishing an inter-club league of Metro-Vancouver club teams that now bares his name as does a memorial bench on the west lawn of our club.

This men’s triples Inter-Club League currently has 16 teams from 6 clubs; West Point Grey(2), Kerrisdale(2), Dunbar(3), Stanley Park(3), Granville Park(2) and Richmond(4).

The WWL is a triples Inter-Club League and the brainchild of Verle Kaweski, a club member for over 40 years. Having observed the success of the men’s Ed Angel league she thought that a similar league for women would have wide appeal. Indeed she was right. Over the years, it has consistently drawn teams from all west side clubs.
