The grounds of West Point Grey looked uncommonly festive on Aug 2. Balloons graced the clubhouse; gowned, hatted ladies and dapper gentlemen circulated among the crowd while old (some VERY old!) and new members gathered to celebrate our first 100 years as a club!
Lunch was served (yes…served!) to guests under small pavilions while they listened to Charles Hou’s history of the club and remarks from three civic visitors. Time capsule contents were on display in the clubhouse along with all sorts of other club-related memorabilia. Fun bowling events both preceded and followed the festivities and were thoroughly enjoyed by both participants and spectators.
It was a marvelous, well-planned day which set the bar very high for the WPGLBC bicentennial!
